Which Country should I use on my VPN Router as the server address?

By default we set up all VPN Routers with a UK server but you can select the country of your choice when ordering from the products options

If you want to access UK content it is best to use a UK server on your VPN Router. 

This is why:

When you access any UK website normally using your old existing router and the normal internet the website will know which IP Address is visiting it and what country it is in. In this case this will be your IP Address that can be linked back to you. If the website has a policy in place ( which many do) to only allow access to all of the websites content to only those living in the UK then you will be able to access all this content.

When you access any UK website using your New VPN Router the website will only see the IP Address of your VPN Providers Server and what country it is in. In this case this will be your VPN Providers Server Address that can not be directly linked back to you. If the website has a policy in place ( which many do) to only allow access to all of the websites content to only those living in the UK then you will only be able to access all this content if you are using a UK server with your VPN Provider.

For most people changing to a non UK server is not a very useful thing todo as you will find that there will now be websites and content that you cant access as you will appear to be outside of the UK.

Many of our customers like to keep their VPN Router connected to a UK server for this reason and then do this

Use a computer or other device connected to your old existing router that uses your VPN Providers software app to hop from country to country as you like.

This way you get the benefit of protecting all your network with the VPN router and its kill switch and just leave one machine sitting on the old existing router for country hopping when required. This is a much better solution than changing server on the vpn router all the time

If you still want to change server then please follow the instructions included with the VPN Router. We include instructions with all our VPN Routers so you can change server when you want to.

Please note that you must not connect with the software app on a device connected to your VPN router as this double connection will cause problems and prevent connection
